Our Clubs

Hunters Hill Sailing Club

Hunters Hill Sailing Club has supported HM Sailing since 2018 when Harry first started working with the 29er fleet. With the support of valuable club member commitment, 29er numbers have grown from a few racing teams to 4 training fleets comprised of over 40 eager sailors. Hunters Hill Sailing Club is now recognised for having one of the largest 29er fleets on Sydney Harbour and remains to grow as a strong community club providing the opportunity for sailors to enjoy their sailing and develop their skills.

HM Sailing’s program with Hunters Hill Sailing Club has grown in recent years to support the Optimist and Flying 11 Fleets. Optimist Open and Intermediate fleet sailors enjoy weekly training held midweek and on weekends. With our team of coach’s sailors are working on improving boat handling and racing skills. The Flying 11 fleet at Hunters Hill Sailing Club has seen recent development in several areas as the fleet continues to expand.

We would like to thank Hunters Hill Sailing Club for their ongoing support to both Harry and the HM Sailing Team.

Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club

HM Sailing has partnered with Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club in 2022 to provide 29er sailors of all skill levels with regular training. NSW 9er Association

HM Sailing has a long-standing partnership with the NSW 9er Association developing skiff sailing across the state. The 9er Association works to consistently provide sailors with opportunity to experience the thrill and enjoy sailing the skiff classes, mirroring HM Sailing’s vision.

Skiff Skills

The NSW 9er program, ‘Skiff Skills’, is an introduction for young sailors into the 29er class. The 8-week program provides sailors with an overall insight into basic skills and concepts required to sail not just the 29er, but any of the skiff classes.

Skiff Skills training format:

  • 8 sailors rotating through two boats over a 4-hour period
  • Off & on water training
  • Not required to have own boat or crew
  • Open to all experienced dinghy sailors

HM Sailing in 2022 is running Skiff Skills programs out of Woollahra Sailing Club. If you would like to register for the 9er Program, please click here or contact our team directly for more information.

49erFX

The NSW 9er Association hosts entry level training into the Olympic skiff class, the 49erFX.

The Association owns several boats and provides the opportunity to try the class with on-water coach support before purchasing one of your own. Regular training is hosted out of Hunters Hill Sailing Club and is suitable for youth sailors looking to take the next step with their skiff sailing.
